Kit Malthouse Deputy Mayor of London for Business and Enterprise, can't understand why residents overlooking the Olympic Park are complaining.
On the news today a few residents who were being interviewed felt let down by the promises of window cleaning ( which didn't take place) jobs for locals ( no comment) and other benefits they clearly had hoped for..Kits response.. 'I don't get it..they were overlooking a toxic dump full of old fridges and freezers before!!'.
Cant argue with that. hehe.. cheeky..
Kit and Boris
I suppose none of that would be a concern with someone who already has a job.
ReplyDeleteThat’s pretty much the crux of it.
ReplyDeleteThe dump was more important
Imagine...
If you were a resident in a run down borough, lived in a property for 10 maybe 20 or more years... same old dilapidated kitchen , bathroom and whatever else despite promises made, in fact the entire block is in need of regeneration, and year in year out you're given reasons why change cannot occur.
Then... imagine one day, you witness the old dump you’ve been living alongside for many years receiving millions of investment to clean toxic soil, and get a complete new look, and to top it all, the dust from the transformation of the dump that covers your windows are doors.. You just have to live with...
The irony is .. Kit was right.. yet so are the residents.. both sides need to be pleased with the outcome. not just Kit.
I have a feeling one reason why people play the lottery is not so much for the money in itself, but because they know with it, they’ll no longer be treated like crap.
It really is a crime to be poor... anywhere.
