Where do I see thee?
On a rain soaked pavement
Sporting shades of grey
Now a host to colorful water rainbows, and the musicality of feet
Simmering brightly when the sun shines
Like tired eyes
Like love filled eyes
The beggar on the corner of a local store
With only his black and white dog for company
Politely stretching forward his hand
For a penny or three
A brief glimpse of the man he was
The man he will be again
Hopefully
On the faces of the busy commuters
Rushing to get to their destinations
Amidst pained and frustrated expressions
Thoughts of loved ones heading in another direction
Or of a lust filled weekend
Propel them further forward
With a little less anxiety
A little more
Diligently
The impatient bus passenger who decides to walk
Oblivious now to traffic
A clutter free mind on a mission
Seeking shelter
A much loved and over used dusty old shed
Anticipating the arrival of sunnier days
A fine wine bar
Or a quiet church instead
This is Hackney
Where do I see thee?
Everywhere
