The Life of a Single Mother

You do it all.
The end.

Okay Okay - some may get help so here's..
The Life of a Mother Part 2... hmmm what I can say??..
Okay - here you are...

A single mother nurtures and raises her children to be the best that they can be
They hope that their future will be better than their own
They hope they will be able to deal with the challenges that life surely has in store for them
They hope that their children will be well rounded - grounded - and strong enough to be leaders and not followers. At the very least be strong enough to say no when necessary
They hope they will believe in themselves and have faith in their own abilities
That they will grow in confidence - be kind - and caring towards others

There are times when they will be up all night when their child is sick or in need
Yet still get to work on time the following day
They can cook, keep a good home – stay fit - and still look damn fine in pretty lingerie

A mother whether single or not is often a fountain of wisdom
They can be highly intuitive
Extremely creative
They are able to make a tasty meal when there’s nothing in the cupboard

When they’re unwell they keep going
They rarely complain
They often go without things they really want to fulfill the needs of their children
Mothers everywhere know that they will always be mothers – even when their children are adult
They know they will always be needed and called upon
And when called... they will be there
If their children are hurt they feel the pain
Whether they tell you or not
They can be the best keepers of secrets
Your biggest supporter
They are the custodians of hugs and cuddles
Yet can be as tough as iron
Mothers know how to distribute their love
Mothers are love
They are often...
Overlooked
Ignored
Overworked
Mistreated
Unappreciated
Discriminated against
Unloved
Disrespected
Used
Lied to
Sometimes shouted at
Sometimes sworn at
Left alone
Misrepresented
Judged harshly
Sometimes hated
Sometimes Jailed

Yet - if it wasn’t for mothers none of us would be here
Let’s celebrate mothers everywhere... not just today... but everyday
Happy Mothers Day moms!

Oh - and just so they don't feel left out..let's give a good dad salute or nod to the great dads who are representing correctly - thank you guys - we luv youx

Now...I'll hand over to the late great Dennis Brown...
Thank you D
