What would happen if immigration laws were scrapped?
Why do we have them?
Do we have them to ensure adequate resources are maintained for the populous., or do we fear a loss of ‘national’ identity?
What is a ‘national’ identity of many people from many parts?
In the purest sense.... shouldn’t people be free to travel across lands.. and set up homes in whatever country they wish?
After all... who owns the land.. and why?
I was thinking that fighting over land or control of the seas, is a little like fighting over the air that we breath. Who owns the air?
Who bought that?
Boundaries and borders that serve to keep mankind from mankind, appear to create an almost warped sense of self as people ascribe their 'identity' to the land from whence they came. Hmmm limiting at best... perhaps
Boundaries and borders serve to create disunity bias and hatred, as we perceive others with suspicion and fear... with attitudes like ..’they’.. are not like us.
Well... ‘we’ .. are not like them.. if you want to flip the script a little.
Who would we be if we no longer classified ourselves by land grabs.. or country 'ownership'?.
How would we describe ourselves? Surely then we would look at others in a more humane way.. simply, as people... with possibly interesting lives and stories to tell.
Ultimately in this new world order I suspect none of that will matter much.
The borders that exist are those we create in our minds.
Imagine... if we were truly governed by our higher selves.. and not lead purely by our baser.. less evolved instincts
