Word sound and power

Sounds like there are monkey's in the tree in my backyard.
I'm not a fan of monkeys.. or birds for that matter.
Can I just have the tree please?.. thanks.

Question..what holds more power. Words.. or silence?.
Words.. like music, carry vibrations.. that affect our environment.
A selection of words or certain tones or musical arrangements can provide us with the most amazing and positive energy..
Think of the sound of the rain against your window.. as we are experiencing today. Now think of that sound as you lay in bed.. how calming it can be.
Now.. silence, when used in meditation or prayer.. assists with our ability to connect and be at one.

Yet silence.. can also be used as a weapon of war. To attack, manipulate, and punish.

Both silence and words have a place.
Both can be used in a positive way.. or a negative.
The ability to recognise how and why we apply each is useful..

Do we ever really listen to others.. or are we drowned out by the sound of our own inner voice.

Tosh was somewhat irritated.. didn't mince his words here..

The Art of War.. absolutely anything can be used as a weapon.. true?

  1. silence is golden, silent treatments sucks. it all depends on the context. if you are in discussions or arguments with people who just wont listen to your point of view, irrational people, then yeah, you can force a position by being silent. such people, if perceptive (usually not), will understand your silence as a rejection of their view point. may lead them to reconsider their view and re-establish in a more humane manner (usually not).

there is a case where someone has been said something that requires silent contemplation, perhaps something wonderful, extremely irritating, profound or plain hurtful. its like you want to take in what has been said, decipher its meaning, free of further utterances by the person. kinda like avoid them to make this so.

but if the silence is unnecessary, uncalled for, then the trick is to throw it back - out silence them. hard to do and depends on what's left of any prior conversations. are there unresolved issues? the need for more information? its like asking someone if they love you or perhaps for some advice and you don't get any response whatsoever, knowing fully well they got your message and are aware you are waiting for a reply. very annoying and irritating. but if none of this is the case then I would shrug and blank their asses for going silent on me for no good reason. trust, they soon come running back. then I make them work very hard >:~) if I could be bothered

    fuck em
