Two of my favourite TV chefs/cooks both happen to be men
The 'Good Cook' Simon Hopkinson
and Levi Roots
Makes me wonder if men realy are better cooks than us women!!
I do like the no fuss approach to great food!!
Both have cook books available in stores, although I learn better by watching!!
I love these cooking programmes and I see you picked two of the best to watch. I think perhaps men take more time to perfect their cooking skills hence why most of our Top Chefs happen to be men.
ReplyDeleteWomen in my opinion will always be the best cooks, the term "soul food" (didn't just come by because of collard greens and corn on the cob)I feel is appropriate for thats what a woman is to her cooking she always puts love, energy and effort into creating what she knows will nourish her family.
I beg to differ let any man argue with me on that fact!!!
Ha ha - it's funny, when I really cook, I will put my heart and soul into it!! that's if i'm making the effort.. after years of cooking for the 'kids' trust me.. after a while .. it's 'let me just knock up something..anything.. to the point i've heard it mentioned - I don't put any love into it anymore..cheek!! o-k-ay - what that means is.. you're up!!
ReplyDeleteTake centre stage with my blessing lol
I think alot of us women now how huge pressures on our time, .. can't be like 'big mommas hse' every day.. not for me anyway.. not in 2011+
If that changes.. i'll let you know:)Anyway..a man in the kitchen is a sexy thing.. the kitchen.. the bathroom.. the hallway...lol
Hehehe I like your take on that Dawna a man in the kitchen....bathroom...hallway is all good man even better if all he has on is his apron, a bow tie and boots now you talking lol...
ReplyDelete*cue giggling fits* lol.. ChilledLeo - ha ha..i'm gonna have that image in my head all day now lol.. 'hmm let me see..i think i'll make a quick addition to my shopping list .. ah yes ..1 large Apron!!'
ReplyDeleteAs Costner said.. if you build it, they will come!!x
I absolutely love to cook and I enjoy cooking shows because of the many great recipes and ideas I get from watching them.
ReplyDelete@Reggie do you have a signature dish?
ReplyDeleteI do find them inspiring - I keep meaning to experiment more. I have a confession. one of the simplest things to make (i'm told) i've never made. Bread.
I love to bake. I have 1 cake that I make. I call it my .. plain cake. Smells good and tastes nice!!
