Sex and stones...

..of Donald Sterling, the American NBA Clippers owner who was 'banned for life' after being caught on tape telling his girlfriend not to bring black people to his games and more... Some people have pointed out, or wondered.. how he could be racist, and have a non white or 'black' girlfriend.

I think that point is interesting.
It links to the idea that racism is a thing of the past due to the number of 'inter-racial or mixed' relationships, and increased number of 'mixed raced children'.
I understand why people would say that, but unfortunately, an individual who is white, can have a black partner, and still maintain white supremicist views...can still not want, or like to be around black people... or at the very least have an 'unexplained unease' around black people ( .. and that can be true even if the individual is black.. and has a black partner)

Which brings me to my question.
If your partner holds white supremecist views..,. and you are non white.. why would you want to be with that person?
How could you lay with someone who is racist?.. unless you are racist yourself.

A lot has been said about Sterling.. but I have a feeling that his 'girlfriend.. would have heard those remarks before... which makes her no different in my opinion.

For those who have said she is black.. is she?
She may not be 'white'.. but she's not' black' either... is she..?
So who is black..?
.. and what does it mean to be 'black' today

I think that Donald Sterling does have a right to his opinion, I also think that what he said ( although I've not heard it all) was an emotional response to a relationship problem. In short, I think he was Jealous... which may help to put his remarks in context.
..and that he's extremely rich.. may help to put her in context.. #justsaying

In the news today, TV [presenter Jeremy Clarkson.. was apparently caught on tape/camera saying the 'N' word. ( For those of us familiar with Clarkson..Is that even 'news'?)

Now Clarkson knows, that he, can never say that word and it be okay.

Ti said they should replace him with Idris Elba :)

Tell me...If it were your job to enforce something that you didn't agree with , what would you do?
How much money would it take for you to cast aside your integrity, beliefs, or values?
What brought this on?..
You may well ask..
I caught a glimpse of a show where an enforcement officer was threatening to tow a man's car if he didn't pay an outstanding parking ticket, which he said he had already paid.

The woman ( officer) was so cocky, so barefaced and condescending.. yet it turned out that the original fine had been paid.. but some bureaucratic bullshit had occurred, and he had incurred additional costs. so.. she got him on that.

Anyway.. I couldn't get over the woman's behavouur .. having an orgasm because she had an officer by her side. Wet panty every-time she spoke to the man as though he were nothing.. tingles down her thighs, as she realized the extent of her power.. and the demise of his.

I can't stand that kind of thing. ( not the sexual references.. the crazed power rush!)
I can't get over the fact that a large number of people will bemoan something.. yet enforce it. If no-one did it.. if everyone refused to be heartless.. it would stop. Trust me on that.
We'd have to, and would want to.. find another way.

A colonizers favourite strategy was and still is, to remain (whenever possible) incognito.. whilst ensuring thier every whim is carried out.. by others appointed to do so.

All this from a show about parking enforcement officers.. :)

I don't like people being taken advantage of.. and it really is as simple as that.
Bringing a person, or people to their knees, or to the depths of despair, doesn't turn me on.

You know what's sad.. people go against thier values often because they need to earn a living, to feed themselves and family.
A basic human right.
Yet what chance does a society have if its people are paid not to care... and as we're now global in our outlook, What chance a world?

Dawna... it's the law!.. you may say

Well..a law should have the consensus of the majority
And if a law is exploited purely for monetary gain.. what say you then?..
When will we realize that governments are not just some monolithic untouchable entity.. but are simply a construct of individuals
.. of people.. of us.

I'd like to think I wouldn't do this stuff..

For example.. have you ever wondered what an unemployed person will eat, if, or once thier social security benefits are arbitrarily stopped...?
Somebody has to stop them, for them to stop.
have you noticed they're not really referred to as social security benefits anymore . ..
I hope people will love me enough to never want to hurt me.. even if offered a millions bucks!

I'm really glad it's Friday tomorrow, and I'm really glad Monday is bank holiday.

I'm tired and feel a little rough, feel spotty and yukky, so I may even opt for an early night tonight. Too many lates are not good, as they surely take their toll after a while.

I'm told that apparently, the way to become a better writer is to write. I'm told that it doesn't matter what you write ( don't know about that!) just as long as you write. I guess it makes sense though doesn't it.. after all, we say If one wants to become a better reader.. one should read, painter?.. paint, dancer?.. dance.. singer?.. sing.
Et Voila.

In the more negative sense, the same holds true.. if one wanted to become a better liar for example.. the 'common sense' thought would be.. that one should lie more often.

We become, what we do.

Anyway... I've laboured that point enough.

This evening, dinner consumed, my aim is to revise my research question. I was considering charting my researchers highs and lows, but I shan't do that.. it's too painful. If i'm stressed, sometimes the last thing I want to do is cement that feeling in black and white.. although there are times when it can be quite useful to off-load.. vent a little.

In all honesty, today?.. I'm just tired, which I think is making me feel a little icky.. a little ratty, a little grumpy, and a little queasy.

I popped into Iceland in search of some 'Linda Mcartney's'.. and the freezer was absolutely jam packed with Quorn!.. buggers are tryna kill me I swear..

Anyway, I got my 'Linda's'.. then got irritated with a few people in the line who seemed to be taking ages to pay, pack and get out of the way!..

..I got served, then got out..hot footing it home.

Well..I'm glad i'm home now.. to put my feet up as I do what I need to do.

Whilst In the chemist the other day, I noticed two things that I really think I should buy and keep in the kitchen cupboard.

Thing number 1?

Chai Kenya Tea with cinnamon ( they also have a Masla flavour I want to try) sounds delish

The other?..

Good ole Complan.. for days like today.. when I'm tired and feeling run down..
