Chemistry - a Valentines Message...

As Valentine’s Day approaches I thought it would be nice to share a few thoughts of a romantic nature. Yesterday I stumbled across an article listing things that women are ‘supposed’ to find attractive in a man... It included things like money, power, build, intelligence, the colour red (yes red!) features - (apparently when seeking a husband we will look for a man with softer – more feminine features - which implies he may be of the more nurturing type). It also stated that individuals are often drawn to people whose appearance is similar to their own in some way, whether height – build - face – often without even realising it..

Yet - I was reminded by a friend that in truth – all lists aside - it really comes down to one thing… Chemistry.
Yes - Chemistry… that’s all it takes. It’s something you can’t fake. It’s either there – or it isn’t.
Chemistry is what you feel when your hands accidentally touch - or when your eyes meet. It’s when the 1st and last thing you think of - at the beginning and end of each day respectively – is them. It’s when you’re busy, tired, stressed, or under the weather, yet the thought of them makes you smile. It’s when you see their imperfections and little quirks - yet they bother you not – you find them endearing –and you love them all the more for it. It's when you never want to change them - you accept them - totally. It’s when the smallest offhand remark they make can upset you for days - but when you see them you forget you were ever upset – and all you can do is smile. It's when you can’t wait to see them again - so you count the days - hours - minutes… yet when that time comes – and you're together…you want to stop the clock!.

It’s when you can talk to them for days - or sit with them in silence... yet hear their every word. It’s when they’re the only person in a crowded room - and the light in the darkness. It’s when you’d be happy to share a plate with only one set of cutlery – yet equally - present them with a beautifully catered meal with enough glamour and splendor fit for a king or queen. It’s when your heart races on sight and you act like a teenager, despite being in your 30’s - 40s - 50s or more. It’s when all your preferences and preconceived ideas of who you thought you’d fall in love with go out the window - and you're rocked to your core – yet never ask – why?.
Chemistry is silent – aided possibly by pheromones – the intoxicating scent that attracts a mate compatible to your DNA. – It’s unique – to you.
Chemistry is beautiful, funny, smart, and rare.

It’s doesn’t happen often – it’s not meant to!..
Its desire – it’s motive is to jolt you – to surprise you when you thought all hope was lost. It can soften even the hardest heart and commit the un-committable..turn your world upside down – and cause you to rethink your plans.
Chemistry is cool - unfussy - unpretentious - and relaxed. It doesn’t try too hard – it doesn’t have to… it operates alone – a freelancer.
So don’t worry if you don’t have a mate on Valentine’s Day – as Love has no definitive timeline – it’s omnipresent.
So trust in the law of nature – and have faith – as Chemistry… will be well worth the wait!

So readers - I hoped you're all feeling suitably romantic now…
I know I am
Happy Valentines Dayx
