Thought of the day - Euro..

I'm not feeling the Euro..
I don't think it's just because I'm not European, but that may have something to do with my dissonance..
Race relations has been a hard enough slog right here in the UK, and our European 'brothers and sisters' are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy behind in that department methinks..
( *Good luck to the black players in the England football team for Euro 2012)
I digress
I am a Brit after all.. and there are ( what I think may be ) benefits to the European union..
Still, I don't think 'we' can realistically stay out of the Euro for much longer..

It would mean letting go of key powers and control but that's already begun hasn't it..

A one world government is the agenda.. it's not really if.. but when..

* it's already been reported that racism is a major concern, but they're ploughing ahead anyway... any country who fans express that level of hostility should not be hosting.. or really be allowed to partake perhaps.. what say you?

  1. Hey,
Not read your comments for quite some time, but a whole heap of them, for real !
I was stuck with that one. What do you mean by"euro', the currency, the footie competition ?
If it's the latter, well, england has always been well behind france when it comes to including black players. There are also a good number of them playing for Holland, some for Germany, and even one for Italy. Poland has also had a black player, so...
if your "fears" allude to the countries where the competition will be held, i'd say that the average pole or ukrainian certainly has as much in common with the average black britton as with those black football starlets living in bling bling world. The same could be said about all the football starlets, whatever their colour.
They don't live in the same world as most human beings.
On another level, nice to see some mention of the great JA talents of the past (Mr Mittoo, the Skatalites) rather than those bland Rihannas and all those plastic hacks that pass off as "r&b" these days. Maybe you should post something one day about the reason why "black" music of the new millenium becomes sooo dated sooooo fast ?
You should just go back to the studio and record some proper R-E-G-G-A-E tunes some day.
My tip : just go check what a man called Roberto Sanchez works on with Alpheus, that wonderful (and obviously underrated) UK talent.
No idea whether you still have the voice and the wish to sing but, frankly, DL produced by the spanish reggae wizard, that would be S-O-L-I-D !
    ; )
All the best for 2012 for you & yours !
Rey, your SFFF (spécial fan from france).

I may just post something about the speed in which black music of the new millenium seems to become so dated so fast.. hmmm i have a view on that..

  3. Hey,

Great to learn that you will be recording again !
Please do keep as all posted.
I just hope that will be more on a reggae tip, considering all the "thumbs up" you give to r&b artists on the blog ! ; )
As you'll have guessed, i couldn't care less about current US/US related "superstars", who are just "products". I've always found that many JA or UK songstresses had more talent than that (and that most could also sing a proper soul/r&b tune, besides reggae or rocksteady. Put a soul/r&b artist on a reggae beat and... err... and don't get me going on Rihanna's reggae ! ; (
As i know you tend to post links and info on great soulful artists, here are my 2 p worth of recommendations :
Nelly Stharre, very inspiring and inspired lady from the Commonwealth of Dominica :
